Sustainability & Recycling

Working collaboratively to ensure a clean, safe and equitable future for all is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity this century. The end of single use plastics and throw-away culture in imminent, which has vast implications for consumer culture and the manufacturing industry that fuels it. At IPS we believe every challenge presents an opportunity and is critical to driving innovation. Teetering on precipice of the fourth industrial revolution, we’re ready to embrace the challenges head on and invite you to join us on this journey. Read on to see some of the how we’re already tackling some of the immediate challenges.

Recycled materials

Thermoplastics can be recycled many times over and as a manufacturer specialising in plastics, we’re well versed in the burgeoning local recycled material market.

Not only can we use recycled materials, but we can help you to meet your sustainability goals by using our in-house regrind and pelletisation process to turn your old polymer products into new ones!

Many of our products already use a complete or partial mix of recycled plastic such as our Supercart Hybrid Trolleys and RUM bucket.

RE-shoring

One lesson out of the COVID-19 pandemic is the fragility of global supply chains, be it a pandemic, natural disaster, failed diplomacy or conflict - global supply is never a surety. With our in-house manufacturing, we can ensure the sustainability of your business operations by providing a continuous supply chain when the world is plunged into turmoil again.

ethical supply chain

It may not be a comfortable topic, but there are serious ethical concerns to be considered when purchasing from abroad. When the price is good for your bottom line, it might not necessarily be good for the people who made that product. From overcrowded and unsafe textile factories to opaque supply chains concealing forced labour, unethical labour still plagues products made overseas.

Thankfully tides are changing, driven by both industry and consumer awareness. One simple way to guarantee an ethical supply chain is to buy local. Australian labour laws and working conditions are some of the best in the world, and manufacturing in Australia gives you the added advantage of supply chain security and top notch quality.

envisioning our future

At this critical juncture, it’s easy to get caught up in the negativity and despair. But here at IPS, optimism is in our DNA. With the convergence of smart technologies, AI, automation, recycling, additive manufacturing, Cradle to Cradle design, and renewable energy, we are on the cusp of a new era for humanity as we herald the fourth industrial revolution. If managed correctly, we expect to see an unprecedented rise in the quality of life for people all around the world.

We recognise our contribution no matter how small, with every increase in efficiency saving energy and material whilst reducing injury. From the products we choose to make that improve outcomes in whatever field they are, like our light weight Supercart trolleys that enhance accessibility in shopping for those less able bodied like the elderly and act to promote recycling by demonstrating the tangible benefits.
